Great nose. A little chocolate and candy but not to extreme. Intense. Complex. This is what Douro is doing best when it comes to red wine. A delicious and quite long finish. One of my favorite Douro wines from 2008.

scott I'm slowly making my way from Alentejo to Douro (although I still have a lot of Alentejo to check-out), so it's always good to know what's good out there beforehand.

Dão makes some of the best 100% Touriga Nacional wines in Portugal. This is a great bottle. Minty, concentrated, great structure, complex and quite delicious. Great aging potential so I'm looking forward to discover more bottles in the upcoming years.

I bought this bottle on a recent trip to Tuscany and more specifically to the Chianti Classico wine region. With 80% Sangiovese (typical Chianti Classico) the nose is clearly marked by herbal notes. Intense and powerful. Hints of oak. Mouth is definitely full-bodied, intense and powerful. The level of acidity means this a great food wine. Well worth the (not so expensive - 20 euros) price.
