The Chicago Wine Company (TCWC) was founded in May, 1974 by Philip H. Tenenbaum, who is the company's sole owner.
TCWC also regularly buys a significant amount of fine wine for its own account and offers these wines on an outright purchase basis. Because TCWC has been buying wine in Europe for more than 30 years, it has developed a wide network of suppliers which enables it to buy wines that most other wine companies simply cannot get. This enables TCWC to offer one of the very finest and most comprehensive selections of both young and well-cellared mature wines in the U.S. TCWC brings all wine from Europe over on full, insured, temperature controlled containers in the late Spring or Fall. Long term storage is available and is used by thousands of collectors. All bottles stored at TCWC are not exposed to light and enjoy a constant 55 degrees Fahrenheit year-round with very high security.
